Every adoption from PAWsitive Difference includes a Basic Manners class for all dogs!

Why are training classes included with all adoptions?

Dogs Training is not just about teaching a dog to sit or do tricks. It helps them build trust, feel secure, and develop the social skills they need to thrive in their new home.

Whether they are overcoming fear, learning how to interact with people and other animals, or simply adjusting to life in a new home, training ensures that both the dog and the adopter are set up for success, creating a harmonious relationship built on trust and understanding.

Investing time in training your rescue dog can have long-lasting benefits. Not only does it help the dog adapt more quickly to their new environment, but it also strengthens the bond between owner and  pet. Trained dogs are often happier, healthier, and more confident, which leads to a more fulfilling and joyful companionship.

What can I expect from these classes?

These classes are conducted at various local parks. The majority of sessions are scheduled on weekends, though weekday evening classes may be offered based on sufficient enrollment. Each course comprises five consecutive weekly sessions, lasting approximately one hour each. The curriculum focuses on foundational obedience skills, including leash manners, sit, down, stay, and recall. Trainers also address individual behavioral concerns as needed. Class size is typically limited to ten dogs to ensure personalized attention. To maximize the benefits of the training, owners are expected to dedicate at least 30 minutes daily to practicing the techniques learned in class. Consistent reinforcement at home is essential for achieving optimal results; as with any training program, the commitment and effort invested directly correlate with the outcomes achieved. Once a dog attends and graduates from these classes, you can drop in for a refresher at any future classes as needed.

Can I take the class if I didn't adopt from PAWsitive Difference?
